CSSA and Chinese Embassy

In Grace Wang dispute in Duke University, DCSSA did not only attack Grace Wang. Scott Savitt, a scholar and ex-journalist also was the target of DCSSA. Why does DCSSA become the Red Guard of Duke University?

CSSA in many major universities is under controlled by the student from mainland China. Ordinary Chinese Citizen (not include Hong Kong and Macau) do not have enough money to pay high cost for overseas education. Most Chinese students in major universities are the son of communist official. Due to this special relationship, they have to support communist party even in western countries.

On the other hand, the Chinese embassy tries to control Chinese organizations in other countries. For example, so many Chinese commerce associations in Indonesia were under the control of Chinese embassy before anti-Chinese movement in 1965. Most of Indonesian Chinese may tell you that the Chinese embassy in Jakarta is the source of troublesome because Chinese government shamelessly intervene overseas Chinese community for political reason.

I highly recommend US government and UK government to review the student visa of the member of the organizing committee of CSSA. No country wants the Red Guard to threat other people basic human rights. On other hand, most of overseas Chinese do not want to be controlled by communist party in western world.

I disagree. Top students in Chinese undergraduate and graduate universities are often targeted to be recruited by the Communist Parties. Whether the organization becomes "left" is a reflection of the leadership and how active the leadership is.

On the other hand, I was part of a (mostly Mainland) Chinese student org and the Taiwanese office refused to lend us Chinese New Year props because the leadership was Mainland Chinese. We sent a Taiwanese student to ask for the same thing, and got it. You just can't win.

im sorry but...

this is complete bull

most chinese students are the sons of a communist party?
- thats just ridiculous. I know like literally hundreds of mainland chinese univ students in Canada&US, and NONE of them (I repeat NONE) are related to ANY political party. most of their dads are either doctors, businessmen, or profs

i cant believe people still make these kind of assumptions. it's sad that we have to defend Freedom of Speech for idiots like you
